Background

Angela Abizera is originally from Rwanda and was raised in Dzaleka, where she has lived for more than sixteen years and completed her education. Her name also appears as Angela Azibera in the Dzaleka Art Project’s records.

Poetry and advocacy

Abizera is described as a poetry team leader and community mentor with an interest in creative writing, and studies for a degree online alongside volunteer work. In 2022, Education Cannot Wait interviewed her, on International Youth Day, as one of three Global Youth for Education in Emergencies (#Youth4EiE) panel members.
