Making the Law Clear for Dzaleka
The Rights Navigator helps you understand the laws, rules, and rights that affect your daily life as a refugee in Malawi.
Clear Laws
The law should be easy to read, not just for lawyers. We provide the full Refugees Act (1989) and simple summaries of what it means for you.
Your Rights
Knowing your rights helps you protect them. We explain the Constitution and the specific Reservations that affect your life in the camp.
Speaking Up
Use our Incident Tracker to report what is really happening. Your reports create the proof needed to ask for better treatment.
Why We Built This
For a long time, refugees in Dzaleka have lived under the 1989 Refugees Act. There is often confusion about what the law actually says versus what is just camp practice (like "Gate Passes").
This website is a tool to check the facts. By putting the laws, the reservations, and legal help all in one place, we hope to make it easier for you to stand up for yourself.
It follows global standards (UNHCR RIMAP) but is built specifically for the needs of our community here in Dzaleka.
Important Note
This website is for information only. It is not a law firm.
