James Chavula
Features Editor and Head of Solutions Journalism
Nation Publications Limited
Award-winning journalist with deep personal interest in refugee affairs. Previously worked with Times Group, Malawi's oldest newspaper. His reporting focuses on underreported human development issues, including human rights, gender equality, and the struggles of marginalized minorities. His connection to refugee issues traces back to 1987-1993 when he was raised in the care of a Mozambican domestic worker who had fled the civil war in her country.
Arsene Boji Lumière
Reporter and News Anchor
Yetu Community Radio
Congolese journalist who has been a reporter and news anchor with Yetu Community Radio since 2018, working in the French department. He also hosts Community Development, a radio program dedicated to exploring and promoting development issues within the community. Arsene brings unique insights into the untold realities of refugee voices and the role of radio within the camp.
Moses Kaufa
Executive Director
Media Council of Malawi
Seasoned media professional with a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communications and a Master's Degree in Strategic Management. Brings over a decade of experience in audio-visual production, publishing, and managing community and rural development projects. His expertise spans message development and translation, community mobilization and civic education, institutional and community capacity building, advocacy, and social media communication.
Chisomo Kachapila Ngulube
Head of Broadcasting
Parliament of Malawi Radio Station
Currently the Head of Broadcasting at the radio station of the Parliament of Malawi. Passionate about defending freedom of expression and promoting access to information in Malawi, she also serves as Vice Chairperson of the MISAMalawi. With over 20 years of experience as a journalist and editor across multiple media platforms, Chisomo covers a wide range of topics, including development, business, and political issues, with a particular focus on women and girls. Notably, she has reported on the experiences of pregnant women with disabilities navigating the Malawian healthcare system.
