The Dzaleka Arts Lab is a grassroots creative incubator established by and for the refugee community. Recognizing that artistic expression is fundamental to healing, identity, and advocacy, the Arts Lab provides a much-needed physical space where musicians, poets, digital artists, and visual creators can gather to hone their crafts.
Equipped with modest recording and production facilities, the Lab serves as an educational and collaborative center. It is here that many of the performances for the Tumaini Festival are conceived and rehearsed, and where young creatives learn digital storytelling, music production, and photography.
As a heritage site, the Dzaleka Arts Lab embodies the living tradition of the camp. It captures the contemporary voices of displacement and transforms them into powerful narratives of hope and shared humanity.
