Kakozi Fariala is a young artist born in 1997 in the Democratic Republic of Congo. He left his country in 2018 due to war and currently lives with his family in the Dzaleka refugee camp where he paints to earn a living.

Artistic Journey

Kakozi received training from his fellow artists in the camp. He draws and paints, but unfortunately has difficulty finding adequate materials to do his work. Prices are very low on the camp market, which significantly minimizes the profit he can make.

Dzaleka Art Project

Kakozi is one of the visual artists participating in the Dzaleka Art Project, which supports and promotes artistic expression within the refugee camp community.

Artistic Community

As a member of this vibrant artistic community, Kakozi contributes to the rich cultural landscape of Dzaleka through visual arts and creative expression, despite the challenges of limited resources.
